No Wave Cinema

No wave cinema is a type of experimental film-making that grew out of the punk rock and visual art movements in the 1970s and 1980s. It uses unconventional methods to create challenging and non-traditional films that focus on personal and unconventional ideas. No wave cinema is often very abstract and defiant of mainstream movie-making conventions. Rather than pursuing a plot or characters, these films explore ideas through images, sounds, and ideas. They can be very scary or strange, but also very beautiful.
