ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

No-show job

A no-show job is a job where someone gets paid to work, but they never actually do the job. It's like if your mom gave you money for doing your chores, but instead of doing them, you just sat on the couch and watched TV. Let's pretend your mom owns a lemonade stand and she needs you to help her. She pays you $5 a day to squeeze the lemons and sell the lemonade. But if you just take the money and don't do anything, that's a no-show job. It's not fair to your mom who needs your help, and it's not fair to other people who might want the job and would actually do the work. Basically, it's being paid for a job you are not doing.
