Non-Nuclear Futures

Hey kiddo! Do you know what nuclear energy is? It's a type of energy that comes from splitting atoms. But some people don't like it because it can be dangerous if something goes wrong, like an explosion.

So, these people are thinking about other ways we can create energy without using nuclear power. They call this "non-nuclear futures". They want to find different sources of energy that are safer and won't harm the environment as much.

Some examples of non-nuclear energy sources are wind power, solar power, and water power. Wind power is when we use windmills to make electricity. Solar power is when we use the energy from the sun to make electricity. And water power is when we use water to turn turbines that make electricity.

These are all great options because they don't create pollution and don't use up natural resources. This means we can use them over and over again without running out. Plus, they don't have the same risks as nuclear energy.

Does that make sense, kiddo? Non-nuclear futures is just a fancy way of saying we want to use different types of energy that are better for the planet and safer for us.
