ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Non-denominational Judaism

Sometimes people want to practice a religion like Judaism, but they don't want to be part of a specific group, like Conservative or Orthodox Judaism. Non-denominational Judaism is when people follow the basic principles and beliefs of Judaism without belonging to any particular group. This means they can choose which parts of Jewish tradition they want to follow and aren't limited by the rules of a specific denomination. It's kind of like picking and choosing the parts of a meal you like without having to eat everything on your plate. Non-denominational Jews still celebrate important holidays like Hanukkah and Passover, and they still follow the basic tenets of Judaism, like reading the Torah and following the Ten Commandments. But they do it in a way that feels right for them without being part of a specific denomination.
