ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Non-denominational Muslim

Okay, so you know how there are different types of religions, right? Just like how there are different types of toys. There are some people who follow a type of religion called Islam, which means they believe in a specific set of teachings and practices.

Now, some people who follow this religion might belong to a specific group within it, like how some kids might only play with blocks or dolls. These groups are called denominations, and they might have different beliefs or practices compared to other groups within the same religion.

But there are also some people who follow Islam but don't belong to a specific group or denomination. They might just believe in the main teachings of the religion and follow their own way of practicing it, kind of like how some kids might prefer to play with multiple types of toys or make up their own games.

These people are called non-denominational Muslims, which means they don't have a specific label or group within the larger religion of Islam. It's kind of like being a free spirit or not wanting to be tied down to one particular way of doing things. They still believe in the main teachings and practices of Islam, but choose to express it in their own unique way.
