Norma Cossetto was a young girl who lived a long time ago in a place called Italy. She was just like any other normal girl, but something very sad happened to her.
During World War II, Italy was taken over by another country called Germany. The people who lived in Italy were not happy about this and many of them decided to join a group called the partisans. The partisans were fighting against the Germans to try and make Italy free again.
Norma's family was part of the partisans and they were fighting against the Germans too. One day, when Norma was just 18 years old, the Germans came to her home and took her away. They wanted information about the partisans and they thought Norma might know something.
Sadly, the Germans did not treat Norma very nicely. They hurt her and did very mean things to her. She was very brave though and did not tell them anything. Norma showed a lot of courage and strength during this time.
Eventually, the Germans took Norma to a terrible place called a concentration camp. This was a place where they kept people who they didn't like and did very horrible things to them. Norma was kept in the camp for a little while but sadly, she died there.
Even though Norma's story is very sad, it is important to remember her and all the other people who were hurt during the war. We can look up to Norma for her bravery and strength during a very difficult time.
