Normal (geometry)

Alright kiddo, let's talk about something called "normal" in geometry. Imagine you have a ball and you want to draw a straight line on it. If you drew the line straight down towards the ground, it would be called the "vertical" line. But if you drew the line so that it's sticking straight out of the ball, that would be called the "normal" line.

The normal line is like a special line that is perpendicular, or at a ninety degree angle, to a surface. For example, if you put your hand on a table and draw a line straight out of your hand, that would be the normal line to the surface of the table. It helps us understand how surfaces are related to each other and how they interact.

So just remember, the normal line is like the straight line that comes straight out of a surface at a ninety degree angle!
