ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

North American Meteor Network

The North American Meteor Network is like a big club where lots of people who love meteors get together to watch falling stars! Meteors are little rocks from space that burn up as they fall into Earth's atmosphere, creating bright streaks of light in the sky that we call shooting stars. The North American Meteor Network has members all across North America who keep an eye on the night sky and report any meteor sightings they see. This helps scientists learn more about these space rocks and how they interact with Earth's atmosphere. They also set up cameras that can capture video footage of meteors so that they can study them more closely. All of this information helps us learn more about our universe and the things in it!
