ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Northern Epirus

Okay kiddo, so Northern Epirus is an area located in southeastern Europe. It used to be a region in Greece but now it is mostly a part of Albania.

So let's imagine you have a toy that you really like and it's yours. But then imagine one day, another kid comes along and says that toy now belongs to them. You would be upset, right? Well, that's kind of what happened with Northern Epirus.

A long time ago, Greece and Albania were not separate countries like they are today. They were all part of a big country called the Ottoman Empire. But then, Greece and Albania each wanted to have their own countries. So they fought a war and Northern Epirus ended up being part of Greece.

But later on, another war happened and this time, Albania won and they took control of Northern Epirus. So now, Northern Epirus is mostly a part of Albania, but it used to belong to Greece.

I hope that helps you understand a bit better, little one!
