Northern School

A northern school is a type of art created by artists who lived in the north of England. They would paint pictures of the people and places around them, like a farmer working in a field or a landscape of the rolling hills. They used bright colors and bold lines to make the paintings look lively and energetic, almost like a cartoon. These paintings were very popular in the 19th century and people loved them because they showed what life was like in the north of England. Nowadays, we can still see many of these paintings in museums and art galleries, and they remind us of a time long ago when people lived much differently than we do today.
