Northumbrian music

Northumbrian music is music that comes from an area called Northumbria, which is in the north of England. This music is special because it has a unique style and sound. The instruments used to make this music are usually small and easy to carry around, like a fiddle or a small accordion.

The people who make this music play songs that come from a long time ago and tell stories about things that happened in Northumbria. These stories might be about battles, or love, or just about the countryside and the animals that live there.

To play this music, the musicians have to practice a lot, just like you practice your ABCs or counting to 10. They have to learn how to hold the instruments properly and how to get the right notes out of them. They might also learn how to dance to the music, because sometimes people would dance to this music a long time ago.

So, for a little one like you, Northumbrian music is a special type of old music from the north of England that tells stories and sounds really pretty!
