Nowruz is a celebration that happens on the first day of spring! It's like having a big party to say hello to the beautiful flowers and green grass that come out after winter. Nowruz is very important because it's been celebrated for more than 3,000 years and lots of different countries and cultures celebrate it too!
During Nowruz, people clean their homes and prepare special foods like rice pudding and bread. They also set up a special table with items that represent different parts of life, like apples for health and garlic for courage. Families and friends get together and exchange gifts and kisses on the cheeks.
Nowruz lasts for 13 days and ends with a big celebration called Sizdah Bedar, where people go outside and have picnics, play games, and enjoy the fresh air. It's a very happy time of year and a great way to welcome spring!
