Nu'u

Nu'u is a fancy word for "village leader." Sometimes in big groups of people, like in a tala, there might be one person who helps everyone else. They help keep everyone safe, make sure everyone gets enough food and water, and can solve problems if there are fights or disagreements. That person is the nu'u. It's kind of like being the boss of a big family, or the captain of a sports team. But instead of playing games, they help everyone work together in the village.
