Nursing diagnosis

Nursing diagnosis is like a doctor's diagnosis. When you go to the doctor, they check you over, ask you questions, and make a diagnosis - they decide what the problem is. Nursing diagnosis is the same idea but for nurses. Nurses check how the patient feels, what their vital signs (like temperature, blood pressure, heart rate, etc) are like, and use special tools to figure out what is wrong and what kind of care the patient needs. For example, if a nurse finds that a patient has difficulty breathing, they might diagnose them with shortness of breath. It's like putting a name to the symptoms the patient is having so that the nurse knows how to best help them.
