ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

OCR-B

OCR-B is a special type of font that computers use to read text on paper documents. The letters are designed to be very easy for machines to recognize, so that they can accurately convert the text into digital form. Imagine you are trying to read a book, but the letters are very small or written in a strange font. It would be very hard to understand the words, just like it would be hard for a computer to read text written in a difficult font. But with OCR-B, the computer can quickly and easily recognize the letters, making it possible to scan and digitize a lot of text very quickly!
