Oar (sport rowing)

Oar is a long flat stick that is used in a sport called rowing. This sport is where people sit in a long skinny boat and use the oars to move the boat through water.

Each person in the boat has their own oar, and they have to work together to move the boat. They have to dip the oar in the water and move it back and forth to make the boat go forward.

Rowing can be really hard work because the oars are heavy and you have to use a lot of energy to move them. But it can also be really fun because you get to be out on the water and enjoy the scenery.

So, basically, an oar is a big stick that helps people move their boat through the water when they’re doing the sport of rowing.
