Obergefell v. Hodges

Obergefell v. Hodges is a big and important court case that happened in the United States in 2015. It was about whether two adults of the same gender could get married and have it recognized by the government in all the 50 states in the country. The court said that it was okay for them to do so!

Before this court case, not all states in America allowed gay people to get married, which wasn't fair. It meant that some people couldn't be with the person they loved and it was treating them unfairly. But Obergefell v. Hodges changed all that and made it possible for everyone to get married, no matter who they wanted to marry. This court case was very important because it made the world a better place for everyone.
