Obsessive–compulsive personality disorder

Obsessive-compulsive personality disorder (OCPD) is a condition where people have very strict rules and routines that they feel like they have to follow all the time, and they worry a lot about things being perfect.

Imagine you really like to wash your hands a lot, and you always want them to be super clean. People with OCPD might feel like that about lots of things, like cleaning their house, organizing their stuff, or following a certain routine every day. It can be really hard for them to relax and do things in a more flexible way, because they feel like everything has to be just right.

Sometimes, people with OCPD can have trouble making friends, because they don't want to deviate from their routines or rules, and they have a hard time adjusting to changes or new situations.

A therapist or doctor can help someone with OCPD learn how to manage their thoughts and feelings in a healthier way, and find ways to be happier and more flexible in their daily life.
