Occupation of Japan

After World War Two, Japan was occupied by the Allied Forces as punishment for starting the war. The Allied Forces (made up of countries like the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and other countries from around the world) sent troops to Japan to make sure the Japanese people followed the rules. The troops stayed in Japan for about 7 years and during that time, the Allied Forces changed the way Japan was run, introduced a new constitution, and made sure that the Japanese government no longer had the power to act aggressively. The occupation ended in 1952, and since then, Japan has been a peaceful and successful country.
