Occupational Outlook Handbook

The Occupational Outlook Handbook is a big book with lots of information about different jobs that people can have. Think of it like a giant encyclopedia of information about careers!

It's a tool that grown-ups use to help them figure out what kind of jobs they might want to have when they're older. For example, let's say you want to be a doctor when you grow up. Someone might look up "doctor" in the Occupational Outlook Handbook to learn more about what doctors do, how much they get paid, and what kind of education and training they need to become a doctor.

The Handbook is made by a group called the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and they do a lot of research to find out things like how many people work in different jobs, how much money they earn, and what skills and education they need.

It's important to know about different careers because when you grow up, you might not want to be a firefighter or a teacher like your parents. Maybe you'll want to be a computer programmer or a chef instead. The Occupational Outlook Handbook can help you learn more about all kinds of careers so you can decide what you're interested in and what you might want to learn more about.
