ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Occupational justice

Okay kiddo, let me explain occupational justice to you.

Remember when we talked about what it means to be fair? Well, occupational justice is all about being fair when it comes to the activities we do every day.

You know how you like to play with your toys and draw pictures? Those activities are called occupations, and they're the things we do that give us a sense of purpose and enjoyment. But sometimes, not everyone has the same chance to do the activities they want to do.

For example, think about kids who live in a neighborhood without a playground or parks. They might not have as many opportunities to play and have fun outside. Or think about adults who have disabilities that make it hard for them to do certain jobs. They might not have the same chance to work and make money as someone who doesn't have a disability.

That's where occupational justice comes in. It's all about making sure that everyone has a fair chance to do the activities they want to do. It's about making sure that playgrounds and parks are available for everyone, and that people with disabilities have the support they need to do the jobs they're interested in.

So, occupational justice is all about making sure that everyone has a fair shot at doing the things that make them happy and fulfilled. Pretty cool, huh?
