ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Ogonek

An ogonek is a little tail that hangs off the bottom of some letters in some languages like Polish and Lithuanian. It looks like a small curved line or a little hook. This tail helps us pronounce the letters in a special way. For example, if a letter has an ogonek, we know to say it a certain way instead of saying it a different way. It's kind of like a helper for the letter!
