Old Right (United States)

Old Right refers to a political movement in the United States from the 1930s to the 1950s which opposed higher taxes, government intervention in the economy, and increasing support for labor unions. They believed government should be limited in its role and that the nation's focus should be on traditional values and ideals. They opposed the New Deal policies of President Franklin D. Roosevelt and his successors. They argued that government should stay out of people's lives and should not be involved in issues such as the economy, labor unions, or foreign policy.
