An Ollie is a type of skateboarding trick where the skateboarder launches themselves and the skateboard up into the air without using their hands. To do an ollie, the skateboarder places their back foot on the tail of the skateboard (the part that sticks out at the back) and their front foot on the middle/front of the skateboard. Then the skateboarder pushes down on the tail with their back foot and pops the board off the ground with their front foot. The skateboarder's feet will stay on the board as it leaves the ground and is briefly in the air, after which the skateboarder can land safely back on the ground.
