Ombudsman

An ombudsman is a person who helps to make sure people are being treated fairly. Ombudsmen investigate when someone says that something wrong has happened to them, and make sure that the people responsible give an explanation and put things right if necessary. Ombudsmen can help with all sorts of things, like trying to solve a problem with a company or institution, or to make sure someone is being treated fairly by their school or workplace.
