Ukrainians and Russians are two different countries, but they both come from a similar place. A long time ago, there was one big country called Rus. That was the home of many people from different tribes and cultures, including Ukrainians and Russians. All those people were united into one big family. Even though over time the big country of Rus split up, the strong connection between Russians and Ukrainians still exists - it’s been passed down from generations. Even today, Russians and Ukrainians share many similar customs and cultures, which shows that they're still united in many ways.
