ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Onboarding

Onboarding means helping someone new feel at home, teaching them what they need to know, and introducing them to everyone else. When you start a new job, your boss or the company will give you information about what you'll be doing, who you'll be working with, and what you need to do to be successful. They might also show you around the office, teach you how to use new equipment, and let you know what's expected of you. This is called onboarding. It's like when you join a new game at recess and your friends explain the rules to you so you can join in and play.
