ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

OneWeb

Oneweb is a company that wants to provide internet to everyone, even in hard-to-reach places like on boats or in remote areas with no phone lines. They do this by launching lots of tiny satellites into space, about the size of a big football, which go around the earth and beam internet down to different places on earth. It's like a giant spider web in the sky that connects people all over the world.

Oneweb worked hard to design the satellites to be really smart and to talk to each other so that if one satellite is too far away from where someone needs internet, another satellite can jump in and pick up the connection like a game of tag.

The company also makes special devices that look like mini-satellite dishes that can connect to the internet beamed down from these satellites. These dishes have tiny little sensors inside of them that let them lock on to the signal coming from the satellite to make sure you always have internet connection.

So, Oneweb is like a big friendly spider in space, with lots of tiny satellites that work together to create a strong and fast internet connection for people on earth.
