ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Online transaction processing

Online transaction processing is a way of buying or selling things on the internet. You can use it to pay for items you buy online like clothes, food, and books. It also allows you to send money to family and friends.

When you buy something online, you enter your credit card or bank account information and the merchant (the store you’re buying from) securely sends your payment to their bank. The merchant’s bank then sends your payment to the bank of the seller. The seller will then receive the money for the item you purchased. This process is online transaction processing and it helps keep your personal information and credit cards safe.
