ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Ontario Highway 407

Highway 407 is like a big road that people can drive on to get from one place to another in Ontario, Canada. It's a really important road because it helps people get around faster and easier. But it's not like any other road you might drive on!

See, when you drive on most other roads, you might have to stop at a bunch of traffic lights or wait in line to pay a toll to the person at the toll booth. But on the 407, you don't have to do any of that! Instead, you drive through special machines that read a thing called a "transponder" in your car. Basically, it's a little box that tells the machines that you're allowed to be on the road. You pay for the right to use the road by having that little box in your car and it keeps track of how far you've driven.

Another really cool thing about the 407 is that it has special electronic signs that tell you how long it will take you to get to certain exits or destinations. This can be really helpful if you're trying to get somewhere fast! It's always good to know how much time you have left before you get there.

Overall, the 407 is a really unique road that helps people get around Ontario quickly and without any annoying stops. So if you ever find yourself driving in Ontario, keep an eye out for those little transponder machines and those helpful electronic signs! They can make your journey so much smoother!
