Open energy system models

Open energy system models are computer models that help us to understand how electricity systems work, and how they might look in the future. The models have different parts that represent different parts of an electricity system, such as power plants, wind turbines, and transmission lines. These models help us to figure out what would happen if we changed one part of the system, such as adding a new type of power plant or transmission line. They also help us figure out which choices for the energy system could be the best for the environment and for people who use the electricity.
