ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Order (mouldings)

When you want to make a special decoration in a room, like putting a pretty frame around a picture or a mirror, you need to buy something called "moulding." Moulding is a long piece of wood that has a special shape on it, like a curvy or fancy edge.

When you go to buy moulding, you have to "order" it. That means you can't just go to a store and grab a piece off the shelf like you can with some other things. Instead, you have to ask a person at the store to make the moulding for you.

First, you have to pick what kind of moulding you want. The person at the store will show you a bunch of different shapes and sizes, and you get to choose which one you like best. You can even draw a picture or bring in a sample of what you want, and they'll try to make it for you.

Next, the person at the store will measure how much moulding you need for your project. They might use a special tape measure or tool to make sure they get it exactly right. Then, they'll write down your order and send it to the people who make the moulding.

After that, you have to wait a little bit. The people who make the moulding will take your order and use special machines to cut and shape the wood until it looks just like the moulding you picked out. They might even sand it down so it's very smooth and pretty.

Finally, once the moulding is ready, the store will call you to let you know you can come pick it up. You'll take it home and use it to decorate your room, and your friends and family will say how nice it looks. And that's how you order moulding, even if you're just a little kid!
