Order of precedence

Order of precedence means that things are given a certain level of importance and should be done in a certain way. Imagine if you had to wash three plates - each plate has different colors on it. The order of precedence is the order in which you should wash the plates, so you could start with the orange plate, then the blue plate, and then the green plate. This means that the orange plate was given the highest level of importance and so it should be washed first.
