ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Orders of magnitude (area)

Orders of magnitude is a way of measuring different amounts. It's like counting in bigger and bigger numbers. When it comes to measuring an area, that means you're looking at how much space an object takes up.

For example, a small room like a bedroom might take up about 10 square meters, which means that its area is 10 meters x 10 meters. That's one order of magnitude. A bigger space like a house might take up about 100 square meters, or 10 meters x 10 meters x 10 meters. That's 10 times bigger than the bedroom, so it's 10 orders of magnitude bigger.
