Orders of magnitude (energy)

Orders of magnitude (energy) means measuring something in terms of how much energy it contains. For example, if something has 10 units of energy, that is 1 order of magnitude. If it has 100 units of energy, that's 2 orders of magnitude, 1000 units is 3 orders of magnitude, and so on. The bigger the number, the more orders of magnitude it has. So if something has 100 million units of energy, that's 8 orders of magnitude.
