ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Ordinary Time

Ordinary time is a special time that happens in the Christian religion. It's not really just normal time like we use on a clock or watch. Instead, ordinary time is like a time to learn more about Jesus and his teachings.

There are two parts to ordinary time. The first part happens after the big celebration of Easter and lasts until right before the next big celebration called Advent. During this time, Christians learn about Jesus' life and teachings, like how to be kind to others and love your neighbor.

The second part of ordinary time happens after Advent and lasts until the next big celebration called Lent. During this time, Christians learn about how to follow Jesus and be more like him. They might read stories from the Bible or listen to their church leaders talk about how to live a good life.

Even though it's called "ordinary" time, it's actually a very special time for Christians. It's a time to learn more about how to be a good person and follow in Jesus' footsteps.
