Ordo salutis

Ordo salutis is a Latin phrase meaning "order of salvation." It describes the steps in the process of gaining forgiveness from God and being saved from sin. The steps usually involve: hearing the Gospel, understanding it, accepting it, repenting of sin, being baptized, following God's commands, and having faith in Jesus. All of these steps must be taken in order for a person to gain salvation.
