Organization of American States

The Organization of American States (OAS) is an international organization made up of countries from North America, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean. It was created to foster friendship and cooperation among its member states. Each country in the OAS has its own government, which runs its own country. The OAS helps these countries to work together and cooperate on things like trade, health, education, and the environment. The OAS also helps to defend each country from external threats, like war or terrorism. The OAS has a president and a secretary-general and holds meetings every year. The goals of the OAS are to promote peaceful dialogue, protect human rights, and encourage economic, political, and social development among its member countries.
