Oriented matroid

An oriented matroid is something like an instruction book for drawing pictures. It tells you which lines and shapes you can draw and in what order you have to draw them. In math, it helps us to figure out how to draw shapes that have curved edges and that look right when we're done. The orientated matroid helps us figure out how to put the pieces together correctly.
