ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Original face

Imagine you are creating a painting. You first draw the picture on a piece of paper and then you start painting it with different colors. The drawing that you made on the paper is the original face. It is the one that you will use to create a beautiful painting.

In the same way, when we talk about the original face, we are talking about the idea or concept that someone has about a particular thing before it is changed or altered in any way. It's like the "raw" version of something before it's been "painted" or changed.

For example, let's say you see a picture of a dog. The first time you see the picture, you have an original face of what a dog looks like. This original face is based on what you already know about dogs, what you may have learned from books, videos or pictures.

However, if someone were to edit the original picture of the dog and exaggerate some of its characteristics, such as making its ears very long, then your original face of what a dog looks like may change.

So, the original face is like the basic idea or concept of something that hasn't been altered yet, and it's important because it helps us understand and recognize things as they truly are.
