Orphism (religion)
Orphism is a very, very old religion that people followed a long time ago. It started in Greece many, many years ago before even your grandparents were born.
In Orphism, people believed in a special god named Orpheus. Orpheus was very important because he was able to sing and play music in a way that could make people feel happy or sad or even change the weather.
People who followed Orphism had special ceremonies and rituals that they did to make Orpheus happy. They believed that if they made Orpheus happy, then he would help them live good lives and be happy too.
One of the big ideas in Orphism was that when someone died, their soul would leave their body and go on to another world. In this other world, the soul would be happy and free from all the bad things that happen in the world we live in.
People in Orphism tried very hard to be good people and live good lives because they believed that if they were good, then their soul would go on to this happy other world when they died.
