ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Oseen equations

The Oseen equations are like instructions that we use to describe how fluids (like water) move. We can use these instructions to figure out how a fluid will flow in different situations, like when it moves past an object.

Imagine you are running in the park, and you have a balloon in your hand. When you run, you can feel the balloon moving backward because of the air resistance. This same principle is what causes a fluid to move when it flows past an object.

The Oseen equations tell us how to predict the movement of a fluid when it flows past an object. They take into account different factors, like the size and shape of the object and how fast the fluid is moving. By using these equations, scientists can make predictions about how the fluid will move, which can help us design better things like airplanes or submarines.

The equations themselves are quite complicated, and they involve some fancy math, but the important thing to remember is that they help us understand how fluids move and how we can use that knowledge to make things that work better.
