Ostwald process

Hey kiddo! Today we are going to learn about the Ostwald process.
Do you know what ammonia is? It's a gas that is used to make fertilizer and other important chemicals.
The Ostwald process is a way to make ammonia gas from other chemicals.

First, we need to get a gas called nitrogen from the air around us. This gas is very important because it makes up most of the air we breathe.
Next, we mix nitrogen with another gas called oxygen to make a different gas called nitric oxide.
We then mix the nitric oxide with more air and water, and it turns into a gas called nitrogen dioxide.
Lastly, we mix this nitrogen dioxide gas with water again and it turns into ammonia gas.

By doing this, we can make a lot of ammonia gas very quickly, which is important for making things like fertilizer.
But, we have to do it carefully and make sure everyone involved is safe!
