ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Otherness of childhood

Otherness of childhood means that children are different than adults and have different needs, experiences, and perspectives. As an example, while adults have lots of responsibilities such as going to work, taking care of their families, and paying bills, children don't typically have these kinds of responsibilities. Instead, children are focused on things like having fun, learning, and growing. They might see the world and people differently than adults do.
