Our Lady of Ferguson

Okay kiddo, so Our Lady of Ferguson is not a person, it's a statue. A statue is a figure made of a certain material like stone or metal that looks like a person or an animal or sometimes even a thing. This particular statue is of a lady who stands tall and proud.

Now, this statue became special to the people of Ferguson, which is a town in Missouri. Something really sad and terrible happened in that town a few years ago. A police officer shot and killed a young black man named Michael Brown. This made a lot of people very upset, and some even started protesting because they felt like the police were not treating African American people fairly.

When things got really tough, the statue of Our Lady of Ferguson became a symbol of hope and comfort for the people there. They would gather around it and pray for peace and justice. It slowly became a symbol of their fight for equality and for things to get better in their town.

So even though it's just a statue, it means a lot to the people of Ferguson because it represents their hope and their dream for a better future.
