Overproduction (music)

So, you know how sometimes your mom or dad make a really big pot of soup for dinner? And then they have lots of leftovers that they don't know what to do with? That's sort of like what happens with music overproduction.

Musicians and record labels make lots and lots of songs, and sometimes they end up making so many that there's just too much music out there. It's kind of like having too many toys in your toy box – there are so many options that it's hard to decide which one to play with.

But why is overproduction a problem? Well, when there's too much music out there, it can be hard for new artists to get noticed. It's like trying to find a needle in a haystack – there are so many songs and musicians, it can be hard to find the really good ones.

And even for established musicians, overproduction can be a problem because it can dilute their work. If they're constantly putting out new songs, it can be hard to maintain a consistent quality level.

So basically, music overproduction happens when there's just too much music out there, and it can make it hard for new artists to get noticed and dilute the quality of established musicians' work.
