Overspeed (engine)

Alright kiddo, let's talk about overspeed in engines.

So, you know how when you ride a bike, you need to pedal it to make it go faster? Well, an engine works the same way, but instead of pedals, it has something called a throttle. When you push on the throttle, you tell the engine to go faster.

Now, sometimes people might push the throttle too hard or too quickly, and that can make the engine go too fast. Just like how if you pedal your bike too fast, you might lose control and fall off.

When an engine goes too fast, we call it overspeed. This can be really dangerous because it can cause parts of the engine to break or fail, and that can also make the vehicle it's powering, like a car or a plane or a boat, lose control or even crash.

That's why it's really important for people who operate engines, like pilots or mechanics, to be very careful with the throttle and make sure the engine doesn't go too fast.
