Overview effect

The Overview Effect is a feeling astronauts experience when they look at Earth from space. When they look down at the planet from their spacecraft, they get to see Earth as a whole, a beautiful blue marble in a sea of black, instead of seeing the individual countries they normally see while they are on the ground. This unique experience changes the way they look at the world, and how they think about themselves and how people interact. They feel part of a larger community and more connected to nature, rather than feeling divided and separate.
