Ozone-oxygen cycle

You know how we need air to breathe? Well, the air is made up of different gases, like oxygen and the one we're gonna talk about today, ozone. Ozone is a special type of oxygen gas that's made up of three little oxygen atoms stuck together.

Now, let's imagine we're outside, standing in a big green field with lots of plants around. The plants are really awesome because they help us breathe by taking in some of the gases we don't need (like carbon dioxide) and giving us back the gases we do need (like oxygen).

But wait a minute, what if there's something in the air that's not so great for us? This is where ozone comes in. When some gases, like car exhaust or pollution from factories, mix with sunlight, they can create ozone. Ozone is important because it protects us from those harmful gases by trapping them and changing them into less harmful gases, like carbon dioxide and water.

So we have a cycle: oxygen helps us breathe, plants help keep the oxygen fresh in the air, and ozone helps protect us from the bad stuff in the air. But here's the thing - ozone isn't always around where we need it. Sometimes it's too high up in the air, or too low. So we need to be careful and make sure we're doing what we can to keep the air clean, so that the ozone-oxygen cycle can work its magic and keep us healthy.
