ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

PI curve

A Pi curve is like a fancy picture made out of lines that looks like the letter "π". The curve is shaped like the letter because it shows how something changes over time.

Imagine you have a pizza, and you want to see how warm it gets as you bake it in the oven. If you use a thermometer to measure the temperature every minute, you can plot those temperatures on a graph.

The horizontal axis of the graph is time, in minutes. The vertical axis is temperature, in degrees Celsius. When you connect all the dots that represent the temperature at each minute, you get a line that shows how the temperature changed over time.

If you look at this line, you might notice that it starts low (cold pizza!), goes up, then flattens out when the pizza is fully baked. Then, it might start to go down if the pizza is in the oven too long.

This kind of line is called a Pi curve because it looks like the letter "π". The curve is useful because it shows you not only how something changes, but also when it reaches a certain point or goal. In the pizza example, you can see when the pizza is fully baked from the flat part of the curve.

Pi curves can also be used to show other kinds of changes, like how a plant grows or how a disease spreads. By plotting data on a graph and connecting the dots, we can see patterns that help us understand the world around us.
